Hi just reading that some Beardies are hiding and not eating much at the moment like Oscar, but it is unusual for Oscar not to be up in the summer. Oscar is over 5 years old this year and he has recently been shedding, I wonder if he takes longer to get back to normal after shedding because of his age?
I bring him out from his hiding place to his heat pad on a morning before I go to work now as he doesn't go up there his self, once he's warmed he'll eat his roaches but then he'll happily hide again unless I put him back on the pad!
Our nights are still cold at the moment although days are warming so it could be that?
Any thoughts anyone on whether age affects activity and time that beardies sleep?

Age never seems to affect our dragons, whereas weather does. So if you're having cold spells it may be that causing the lethargy. A general health check including a fecal float wouldn't be a bad idea just in case he is attempting to hide a problem.

Thanks Rick
Yes the weather has been totally unpredictable this year, nights have been so chilly we've had the heating on so I wonder if it is to do with that, will leave him a couple of days as our temperatures are due to increase now and he's eating ok generally so I'll watch and see :)
