After two years Shrek and Fiona are breeding again, and presented us with 29 eggs tonight. 7 eggs look very squashed so I don't know if they'll come to anything, but the others look fine.

Will keep you posted on progress!

Well, the first hurdle will be to see what happens to the squashed eggs. I don't know if it's wishful thinking, but a couple of them look like they're getting a shape back. We should know in a few days if they're going to make it or not.

Fi was so funny - she'd dug a deep hole, and then two hours later when I looked the hole had been filled in, and the thermometer was lying on top. I thought she might have got a bit muddled and thought this was something to keep them warm!

I texted Michael who was dog walking, and he came back to get the eggs out. When he lifted up the thermometer we could easily see the eggs. Steve's theory is she got fed up with burying them with sand, so looked round for the nearest thing she could use!

Bit of a mystery how the thermometer got in the laying box!
