woke up this morning to find the heat bulb not working so changed the bulb and still not working the power light is on the habistat so changed the fuse on the heat bulb section that plugs into the habistat lead and still not working, is it possible that the lead that goes into the tank for the heat bulb can pack up, the reason im asking is every time i changed a bulb there was like a burning smell that went after a day but wasnt sure if it was the new bulb. im going out to buy a new lead when the shop opens, her temp is 19.8 at the moment inside the tank will she be ok foe 2 hours at that temp.

Temps won't be a problem for a day. It does sound like the power lead but you may want to check the socket itself as you could have a short there.

it was the light power lead, it must have been faulty since i bought it there was no tested stickers on it and in a year i have used 7 100w heat bulbs they just kept blowing and i had that burning smell when i changed bulbs. she is happy and warm now.
