Hi all,

My holiday is nearly over so I will be setting up the viv properly when I get home, ready for our new houseguest.

It will now include a couple of rocks straight from the Rocky Mountains!

My question is this, what can I do to prevent cricket escapes from between the panes of glass and the 6 circular vents?

I have some filter material but I think that will restrict airflow too much and I may have some aluminium mesh in the garage. I will play about with these and see what happens. I also had a length of shower screen seal for the doors but I'm not sure this will fit well/work.

I was wondering what other people have used to stop the little critters from escaping.

We use fast dragons, a cat that chases and eats any that she sees on the floor plus a strip of draft excluder between the sliding glass doors.

A piece of cardboard to slide between the glass sheets. As for the vents I dont have any ideas as you cant really block them up as you need the air flow.

I do have an idea to entirely stop crickets escaping though... Buy Roaches :)

Thanks guys,

The cat is a non starter due to the dog.

The fast dragon .... Let's wait and see as we haven't got it yet.

Roaches are also a non starter at the moment due to my wife having a childhood ordeal that involved a holiday home and a nest of cockroaches in her mattress.

Draught excluder seems like a good idea, thanks. I have a load at work so will bring some home tomorrow.
