This may be a daft question but,

I have a 150w bulb in my viv connected to a dimming thermostat. My temps are holding nicely. The floor area next to the basking spot is 32c (90f) and the actual basking spot a bit hotter. Th basking spot is a large piece of sandstone so it keeps nice and warm, even after the heat goes off at night. However, the bulb is not on bright all day. Is this a problem?

Is the brightness of the basking spot important? Obviously I have uv light too, a 10% tube with a reflector on to direct uv light down into the viv properly.

Thanks

Generally dragons tend to bask under the brightest light source which is why we recommend using a spotlight rather than CHE but as long as your dragon basks on the hot spot the quality of the light isn't so important, its the heat that is required.
