There is the odd exception though
...and if you recheck the last paragraph I do make allowance for water "just in case" :D

Hi Tracie,

Thanks for the comments, this post isn't exactly one that I need put on the Aussie site is it  Feel free to join in here if you see anything you can help with, particularly uv/lighting issues.

Rick

Hello Rick,

Oh I am sure the need for education on the landscape is much less with people living in Australia already than with the rest of us who seem to be in the dark regarding the issues such as the landscape & surrounding environment. :D
I feel that learning how they live in the wild will help us to determine more clearly how to set up their tanks for optimal health & well being when keeping them in captivity.

Thank you for this! :)

I have a question about the water thing though. Today I changed Spyro's water like I have done every day since I got him. He hasn't really bothered with it that much, and i've been dripping a few drops on his nose. Although today when I changed it and put the bowl back he has been constantly jumping in it, then sort of like rubbing himself against the sand...it's hard to explain. He keeps doing it though, and still is, then he'll stick his mouth and nose under and shake his head about...is this normal haha?

I guess he's maybe enjoying having a good soak and he is shedding on one back leg, his head and his chin so maybe he's just itchy or something I don't know :S

Our first beardie loved going for a soak, rub and a good old splash around in her water when she was shedding, where as Felix has never been near it.

Great info! Gosh Australia is vastly different to the amount of rainfall we get here in Wales! In the mountains near mine we get around 1000mm of rain per year!
