Being new to the site I am still reading through the forums. However one topic i keep seeing is chopping up veg/salad and the general consensus seems to be it should always be chopped. After many trial and errors I have found that Sam and Dehl love rocket baby leave salad, however they wont touch it if its chopped and never have. If i take it straight out of the fridge rinse it and put it in they wolf it no probs. Quite often straight out your hand if your soft like me and hand feed them. Should i be chopping their salad? The only fruit i give them as a treat is every couple of months i get some blueberries which i squish between my fingers and again hand feed them. You can see the theme here with hand feeding thing..lol. I started hand feeding when they decided they both wanted to eat the same locusts from opposite ends, which usually ended with Dehls head in Sam's mouth much to my fright. does anyone else hand feed or not chop veg/salad? :?:

With the salad leaves its not a problem to not chop it up if thats the way they like it, but fruits and veg do need to be chopped up.

Iceberg is the one that's a real waste of space - seems to give them the runs and nothing else. I've used home grown rocket as a part of their mix during summer for a number of years and had no problems with it. Generally I use a mix of Pak Choy, Choy Sum, Bok Choy, Rocket and any of the red leaved lettuce varieties, together with dandelion leaves and flowers.

I also believe spinach is bad for them so I would never give that :)

Ha, as do I. I really want to try Bane with Prickly Pear, But my I've never seen it in my local Tesco. So the wife said she will get it from the town market for me in the week.

Saying that tho. Trying to get bane to eat his fruit and greens over the past few weeks is a mare. He will have a couple of chunks of squash, or mango, and that's literally it. My bin gets the rest.
Live food tho, no problems. I even held off live food for a whole week. No joy. Oh well. He still gets it every morning.
