So a week or two ago I thought I would try my hand at breeding locusts!

Right now I have around 6 fully grown adults in a tank of there own.

I have my little box of soil and a heat mat under it..I have my lamp directed into that soil to simulate sunlight and overall the temperatures in the tank are pretty decent!

Last week before I went away on a business trip I saw what looked like a little hole in the soil which to me I thought was them laying eggs and I got really excited but when I came back not only did I not see any little locusts running around, the hole was covered up!!

Either they don't find each other attractive or I've just got really unlucky and have 6 of the same sex!

I have a couple of pictures that I will put up, Please note in the soil patch there is loads of little white things...What are those?

Regards,

James

Mine eats locusts not crickets so i would like to breed locusts but it does seem a bit of a faff, i dont really have anywhere to put a tank with a heatmat and everything, however i know there are good guides online as i found some myself a while ago, just google it.
