So we got ourselves a young beardie, he loves crickets and mealworms but for some reason he will not eat any veg. We have tried lots of different types but to no avail, even tried fruit to tempt him but he is not interested in that either. Anyone got any tipd on feeding Veg?

thanks

It's always a problem if the breeder didn't get them eating veg from day 1. At this point if you've tried a variety of foods then the only other way is to with hold live for a couple of days or so and see if that works!

Sometimes grating a bit of butternut squash attracts them, as it looks a bit like a worm

Mine still only eats it if my wife puts it in the Viv. Its crazy. He wont touch it if myself or even my daughter puts it in.
Still some days he don't bother at all. We tried no end of stuff, but he loves butternut squash and Wild Rocket. Apart from that, he wont bother with much. The odd kale and berry.

But give what they don't eat give to your live food, they will eat it, And you feed them to your beardie, so they still getting the goodness so to speak.

Thanks for the tips, he did eat a little bit of Dandelion leaf the other day, but so far that is about it. I did try putting the meal worms in the greens but he just left the greens and ate the meal worms. I eill give the grated butternut squah ago next.

Also try feeding the veg with no bowl. Like on a tile, or just the viv floor if its reptile carpet or newspaper. Thats worked for a few people.
